The weekend of Saturday 19th April
will be remembered by 10 brave souls for quite sometime. When they first heard
about the 24hr Dartsathon (I think I just invented a new word) they must have
though no problem, easy peasy. They signed on the lines and collected their
sponsorship money thinking about the children's charities that would benefit.
The first arrows were thrown at 12:00 noon on Saturday and everyone was glad
to be there, by 3:00am Sunday morning, things were a little different, only
9 hrs to go. They took turns to throw and to sleep, I hear that Dave fell
asleep due to too much alcohol, however by breakfast he was alive and kicking
and talking gibberish. All things back to normal.
Lets not forget the ladies who
sat in and supported the men, they were the brave ones, spending 24hrs with
beer swilling sweaty and gassy men. So what was the final verdict. A grand
total of 527 376 in none stop 24 hour darts. Anyone could pay a pound and
join in as I did, and many more. Miss the board and a 5p penalty in the bucket
and score less than 10 and throw 10p in as well. I was rumoured that Bob was
the main contributor there.
But well done again to the above men who were there at the start and the finish
L-R Martin (1st 180) Dave, Mark (Bob) Darren, Dave, Chad, Jez (top score keeper)
Ant (most 180's with 11) Malcolm and sitting John
